In our most loving memory of Maria Guadalupe Santoscoy Rioseco, who went home to be with our Lord on April 15th, 2021. She left us unexpectedly on 15 April 2021, after a brief illness. We all called her Pita or Tia Pita. She was always very loving, nurturing, and kind! Tia Pita was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, on 12 April, twin sister to Aurelia. Tia Pita, Aurelia, and their brother Luis were raised by loving parents, Antonio Leonel Eugenio Santoscoy Rioseco and Maria Aurelia Gonzalez de Santoscoy.
Growing up, Tia Pita was very intelligent and athletic. She played badminton and volleyball (and was even a city champion). She also enjoyed Mexican dancing, and hosting parties. Tia Pita attended Catholic school from grade school through high school. She enjoyed being part of the church choir, and participated in church events from the time she was young through adulthood.
In 1984, Tia Pita moved to the United States for the first time to live with her sister in Niceville Florida, following the passing of their younger brother Luis. Tia Pita moved back to Guadalajara to be a companion and caretaker to our grandmother until her passing. In 1997, Tia Pita moved back to the United States to live with Mom and Bob in Oviedo, Florida.
Tia Pita proudly became a naturalized US Citizen in 2014 at the age of 81. She was a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church. She loved music—especially Elvis Presley—and loved to sing! She also spent many hours working in the garden! Tia Pita lived for family get-togethers, and had an infectious giggle! She loved making handmade gifts! Tia Pita went home to meet her Maker on 15 April, 2021 at the age of 88. She will forever be missed!
