Margarita Maria Chapman, 83, of Sanford Florida passed peacefully into God's eternal kingdom on November 3rd. Margarita, or "Maggie" as she was know to many friends was born in Havana, Cuba, and emigrated to the United States in 1960. She worked at the World Bank in Washington D.C. and met her husband Bill in 1965. They were married in 1966 and raised their two sons in northern Virginia. Margarita was a talented and prolific artist for more than 50 years, with a particular skill for watercolor. She was an active member of the Central Florida Watercolor Society and enjoyed attending art shows, where she won numerous awards for her work. She was also an avid pianist, frequently playing pieces accompanied by vocals from her husband Bill. She moved to Siesta Key, Florida, in 1994 and to Sanford in 2002, to be closer to her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband William A Chapman Sr. She is survived by her sons Bill (Sheryl) and David (Leigh) and her five grandchildren Gracie, Christopher, Sophie, Chloe, and Will. She also lives on in the memory of her many close friends made over the years, particularly her friend of over 60 years Rita Navarro. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 14, at 1PM at Annunciation Catholic Church in Altamonte Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities of the Orlando Diocese
