Margaret Louise Mix (Wysocki)
December 29, 1944 – September 21, 2024

Margaret "Margie" Mix passed away on September 21, 2024, at age 79, after a long battle with cancer. She passed away at her home in Oviedo, Florida with family by her side.

Margie was born December 29, 1944, in Cuba, New York, the daughter of Adam and Zora (Wakefield) Wysocki. She graduated from Bolivar High School, Class of 1962. Following graduation, she started Nursing school at Arnot Ogden in Elmira, New York. She graduated from Nursing school in 1965, moved to Ceres, New York, and started working at Olean General Hospital. She worked 42 years at Olean General Hospital and held multiple nursing positions throughout her career. Upon retirement, she was celebrated by her colleagues for her dedication to nursing and years of employment.

She married the love of her life, Richard "Dick" Mix on September 11,1965 and they recently celebrated 59 years of marriage. They made Shinglehouse, Pennsylvania their home for 54 years, raising their children and making memories with family and lifelong friends. After retirement, they enjoyed being snowbirds for many years until they moved full-time to Oviedo, Florida in 2019.

Margie is survived by her husband; her son, Richard Mix Jr. and his wife Laurie of Pine Mountain, GA; her daughter, Paula Mix and her husband Ryan Doggett of Asheville, NC; two grandchildren, Richy Mix and Jessica Mix of Orlando, FL; four siblings, Janet Rees and her husband John of Shinglehouse, Pa, Martin Wysocki of Portville, NY, Sandra Peterson of Ceres, Pa, Eileen Burd and her husband Carl of Baldwinsville, NY.

Margie was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend. She was fun-loving, warm-hearted, kind and her favorite past time was playing cards. She loved her family and friends and her most cherished moments were those that brought everyone together.

In remembrance, a celebration of life for Margie will be held in Olean, New York on November 2, 2024. Details of location and time will follow and will be posted on DeGusipefuneralhome.com.
