Margaret Aird Martin of Winter Springs, Florida, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 4, 2017. Margaret was born on March 31, 1931 to George Aird and Nellie Stirling Aird, in Philadelphia, PA.
Margaret grew up in Glenolden, PA and married her high school sweetheart, James Martin, in 1953. She was a much-loved school teacher, earning her Bachelor's Degree at West Chester State Teachers College (now West Chester University) and taught for the Marple Newtown School District in Newtown Square, PA, taking time off to be a full-time mother to her three children. Margaret and Jim moved from Newtown Square, PA to Winter Springs, FL in 1982 where she continued to teach at Keeth Elementary until retiring. She will always be remembered for her fun-loving and joyful spirit!
She is survived by James Martin, her husband of 64 years; her children, Steven (Beth) Martin, Sheryl (George) Elias, and Ronald (Penny) Martin; her grandchildren, Kristen (Alex) Parman, Sarah (Cameron) Stewart, Jonathan Martin, Joy Elias, and James (Bethany) Elias; her great grand-children, Rebekah Parman, Lydia Parman, Judah Elias, and Carson Stewart; and her brother Eric (Barbara) Aird.
A Memorial Service celebrating Margaret's life will be held in the Henry Chapel at the First Baptist Church of Orlando at 3000 S. John Young Parkway, Orlando, FL on Saturday, August 19th, 2017 at 2:00 pm, followed by a reception.
