Malola de Medina, (Maria Auxiliadora Homes de Medina ) Age 89, of Oviedo, Florida passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on April 17, 2022. Malola was born on December 2, 1932 in Puerto Cumarebo, Venezuela.

Her parents were Pedro Homes and Elvia Jatem both of Lebanese descent. She grew up in Dabajuro and went to school at Colegio Maria Auxiliadora in Coro and Santa Rosa de Lima in Caracas. She then moved to Punto Fijo where she worked at the Shell Oil Company and soon after, she met her late husband, Emiro Medina. They were happily married for 59 years and raised their five daughters Chichi (Udo) of Puerto La Cruz, Anzoátegui, Venezuela, Chiqui of Houston, TX, Nhur (Ron) of Oviedo, FL, Emy (Borden) of Napa, CA, and Claudia (Nelson) of Milton, Ontario, Canada. The family grew with 8 grandchildren (Ricardo, Coco, Sasha, Dustin, Ian, Evan, Sabrina, and Andrea) and 2 great-grandchildren (Camilo and Sebastian).

Malola will also be missed by her nieces, nephews and many cousins. Malola enjoyed the company of family and many life-long friends that stopped by for coffee, a chat, and spending time together. She moved to the United States in April 2018 staying with family in Connecticut and then moving to Florida where she became a permanent resident. She enjoyed keeping in touch with her extended family over the Internet and doing crafts.

A Mass will be celebrated at 2pm on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Oviedo, FL.
