Louise S. Allen, age 101, of St. Petersburg, died peacefully in her home March 28th, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Helena, Arkansas, she moved to Orlando, FL in 1930 where she attended school, graduating in 1937 from Orlando Senior High. She completed under grad courses at Florida State College for Women (currently FSU), followed by a business course at Orlando Vocational School.
She married Howard K. Allen August 3rd, 1940 in Orlando. They made their residence in Tampa, FL. They moved to Ashville, NC in 1945, returning to St. Petersburg in 1950 where she continued to reside until present. In addition to being a homemaker, she had a 31 year career with the State of Florida, retiring in 1988 as Executive Secretary to the District Administrator.
She was a long-time member of the Fourteenth Ave. Church of Christ where she served for many years in various roles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard K. Allen, Son, Larry Allen and daughter, Barbara Allen Cartledge. Survivors include Frank and Della Allen ( brother in law and sister in law,John Lentz (son in-law), four granddaughters, and eight great grandchildren.
"He noted that first came the date of birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all was the DASH between those years" She lived and served every day. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.
Visitation and Service will be held Friday, April 2nd, @ R. Lee Williams Funeral Home @ 5:00pm
A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 3rd @ 1:00pm @ the Magnolia Cemetery in Lecanto, FL
