Born to Louis and Catherine Sucich in Granite City, IL, Louis Anthony Sucich Jr., 74, grew up in Tri City Park, attended Granite City High School, and graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale with a BS in Business. He was drafted into the Army and served in the 3rd Brigade 25th Infantry Division in Pleiku, Vietnam, receiving an Honorable Discharge and six medals and decorations. He returned to civilian life, met and married Lorraine (Fjone), his wife of 47 years, and began a 30-year career with the Army. After his son Craig and daughter Angela were born in Huntsville, AL, Lou took a position with PM TRADE (STRICOM) and moved the family to Longwood, FL. There, he earned his MBA from Rollins Crummer Graduate School of Business. In 1997, Lou retired as Director of Logistics and went into consulting, retiring eight years later to spend time with his two grandchildren. On Thursday, September 22, 2016, Lou lost his 7-year battle with cancer, quietly passing away in his home in the company of family. A funeral service will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 9:30 AM.
