Lorraine Murphy, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, made her journey to heaven on September 8, 2026, at the age of 91.

Born in New Orleans on November 4, 1934, to Edwin and Olivette Dominguez, Lorraine lived her life deeply devoted to her Catholic faith and her family. Her lifelong love of music found expression in many years of service in Catholic music ministry, where she shared her gifts as a pianist in the celebration of Mass.

Lorraine considered raising her six children the happiest and most important work of her life. Through the many moves and demands of U.S. Navy family life, she created a home grounded in faith, love, strength, and devotion to one another.

Later in life, Lorraine found great happiness in her marriage to her beloved husband and soulmate, Michael Murphy. Together, they treasured their growing family, and few things brought Lorraine more joy than her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who knew and loved her as “Mimi.”

Lorraine is survived by her six children and their spouses, Lori (Max), Jan, Michael (Leisa), Carol (Mark), Darby (Bob), and Scott (Karen), as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael Murphy; her parents, Edwin and Olivette Dominguez; and her sister, Sandra Morello.

A Mass will be celebrated at Annunciation Catholic Church on September 26 at 10:00 a.m.
