Lorna May Kaine [November 10, 1935 - October 28, 2014] passed away peacefully after a short illness. Born in Elkins,West Virginia; Randolph County. Lorna went to West Virginia Wesleyan College on a scholarship. She graduated with a degree in Biology. Her next move was to Cleveland, Ohio where she met her future husband, Gene Kaine. Lorna worked at the University Hospital helping to develop open heart surgery techniques and met Gene, who, at the time was studying Electrical Engineering. After that period of time, she ended up taking a Teaching position. While they were there, they both decided to take a chance on marriage in Maryland in 1961 and were happily married for 53 years. After many years of traveling the United States, they took a 5 week vacation to Europe. In 1979 they settled in the Orlando area.

Gardening was always in Lorna's life as she gardened with her Granddad since she was a young child. Her vegetable garden in Oviedo, Florida was the envy of the neighborhood. Lorna was a wonderful, outgoing person and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. Other hobbies included Yoga at the Maitland Senior Center in Maitland, Florida and singing in the choir at Seminole Community College; but her passion was writing. She was an avid writer and wrote short stores with her writing group where she met many of her wonderful friends.

Lorna leaves behind her loving husband, Gene, Oviedo, Florida; three nephews, Phoenix, Arizona. No funeral arrangement is planned.

In memory, donations may be made to the Cancer Society or Seminole County Library, Oviedo Branch. Preprinted forms are available at the library for suggestions on book interests, etc. When the book you selected is published, a label with Lorna's name will be printed inside the book.
