A devoted son, a proud father, a dedicated sailor, and a man whose quiet strength touched everyone who knew him. Born on 15th November 1991, Kurt moved through life with a calm presence and a generous heart.
As an only child, the bond he shared with his mother, Malini Singh, was the foundation of his world. He often spoke of her with deep affection, describing how her wisdom, her energy, and her unwavering love shaped him. She molded him into a man of resilience, kindness, and character, and he carried her influence with him every day.
The love Kurt received was love he gave back freely. His greatest joy was his son, Lyric. He wanted Lyric to grow up knowing he was loved, supported and guided — knowing that his father's love would always surround him.
Kurt also shared a close and special friendship with his friends Liza, Jayshawn, Trye and others.
He was deeply loved by his Aunt Karen, with whom he shared a special bond that can never be replaced. He was also adored by Aunts Donna, Janice, Petal, Ruby, and his great-aunt Yvonne. His many cousins - Especially Bridgette who shared a close bond and whenever they were together, they were inseparable, Ashley was also loved by Kurt and they shared many moments of laughter, fun and good times. Tiffany, Nathan, Ronald, Richard, Joel, Jason, Jermain, Neil, Paul, Nicola, Mark, Dacia, Rebecca, and Michael — each had their own connection with him, and each carried a place in his heart.
His journey took him from Guyana to the United States, and from civilian life to the honor of serving in the United States Navy. Whether he was cooking at sea, supporting the Presidential Food Service, or earning the distinguished title of Senior Sailor of the Year, Kurt carried himself with humility and quiet excellence. His selection as a Chief Petty Officer reflected not only his skill, but the integrity and dedication that defined him.
Yet beyond the uniform, Kurt was simply a good man. He loved exercising, volunteering, working on cars, and spending time with friends. He had a warm presence, a generous spirit, and a way of making people feel seen, valued, and understood.
Kurt was married to Ayrian Singh, the mother of his beloved Lyric, whom they both love deeply. His stepfather, Shaffie Jaffar, also played a significant role in Kurt's life and held a cherished place in his heart.
Today, as we say goodbye, we also celebrate the love that shaped him — the love he received from his mother, and the love he gave to Lyric, his cousins, his family, and all those who were part of his life. These are the Legacies he leaves behind, and they will continue to live on in every person he touched.
May his memory be a blessing, and may Lyric grow up knowing that his father was a man of honor, heart, and deep, enduring love.
Lorenzo, we're going to miss you more than words can ever say. We saw the man you became, and we were all proud of you. We'll carry your spirit with us, always. Rest in Peace our beloved.
