Loran Brough Hopkins of Altamonte Springs passed away peacefully at home on June 8, 2026 at the age of 88.

Loran is survived by her two daughters, Christine and Erin; her son, Matthew; and her brother, Bruce.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Martin; her sisters Denise, Carol, and Judi; and her brothers, Jay and Glenn.

Loran was born in 1937 in Brooklyn, NY to George Brough and Loretta Wantz. She moved with her family to Orlando, FL when she was 9 years old. She graduated from Bishop Moore High School in 1955, and then worked for the telephone company in downtown Orlando. After brief moves to Colorado and
California, Loran returned to the Orlando area and married Martin Hopkins in November of 1961. They had three children, and in 1983, Martin opened his own contract door hardware business where Loran worked as bookkeeper and office manager for 32 years.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 26th, 2026 at 11:00 am at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 861 Maitland Ave, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701.
