Loraine Kimes Hunting, 81, passed into the loving arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ on Saturday, August 31, 2019. She was born in Pocasset, OK, on August 24, 1938 to her parents Ernest and Gerene Kimes. She moved with her family from OK to Mesa, AZ as a child, moving to Stockton, CA in her early teens.
Loraine met and married the love of her life and best friend, Bob Hunting, on November 20, 1955 then proceeded to graduate from Stockton College in 1956. Loraine and Bob moved to Florida in 1967 and remained there.
Her passion, love, and joy in life came from family friends, and her church community. Loraine is survived and missed by her husband of almost 64 years, Bob. She is also survived by her four children, Rob Hunting (Alice), Carrie Fiorica (Richard), Debbie Hunting and Pamela Dondelinger. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, who she helped raise in one way or another, including Brett Hunting (Tonya), Daniel Hunting, Tara Neuner (Nate), Jessica Rosales (Carlos), Patrick Fiorica (Alicia), Justin Dondelinger, and Courtney Dondelinger.
Loraine was also blessed with 10 great grandchildren, Nicolas, Katelyn, Logan, Dustin, Dakota, Chase, Viviana, Matteo, Magggie and Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Gerene Kimes, and her brother, Chuck Kimes.
Loraine was the center of her family; she would never miss an opportunity to spend time with them, if it was the holidays, a birthday party, a wedding or just a chance to be with the ones she loved most. Her family brought her the greatest joy.
Her gentle and loving soul radiated through her every action, her patience, grace, and giving was unmatched and everyone blessed enough to know her knew just how much she loved them. She was an active member of St.Margaret Mary Catholic Church where she attended daily mass for many years, served in many ministries, acted as a Eucharistic minister including hospital and nursing home visits, and provided whatever assistance was asked of her.
Outside of the church and her family, Loraine was an avid gardener who loved to travel to new and exciting places. She also enjoyed puzzles and was a Florida Gators and Elvis fan. She treasured the serenity of the beach and spending time with her protective puppy family, Rocco and Patches.
Words used to describe her have included Angel on earth, heavenly, saint, good, kind, loving, and giving. She earned every one of them.
Services will be held Thursday, September 12th at St. Margaret Mary Church (526 North Park Avenue, Winter Park, 32789). Visitation 10:00 am, Funeral Mass 11:00 am.
