Lloyd William (Bill) Chamberlin III went to be with the Lord on June 16, 2023. Born in Thomasville Georgia on December 2, 1943 into a military family he spent his early years based at his ancestral home in Monticello Florida with frequent moves around the country ultimately graduating high school in Virginia.
He graduated from Florida State University in 1965 with a degree in Business and was a proud member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Upon graduation, he was commissioned into the US Air Force, having a brief career in military communications. Following his stint in the military, Bill had a 30-year career at GTE (Verizon) primarily in Tampa with some of his proudest achievements coming during his time as Director of Labor Relations. He spent his last two decades, managing his family farm and selflessly devoting most of his time and care to his family, especially his grandchildren who knew him as "Bo". He was an active member of Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church and was instrumental in supporting North Tampa Young Life.
Bill leaves his beloved wife of 57 years, Rindy, who he adored and his two children, David and his wife Lori and Elizabeth and her husband Ryan. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, Madison Snider, Garrett Snider, Preston Snider, Sadie Chamberlin, Brooks Chamberlin, William Snider, Hudson Schneegold and Max Schneegold.
Bill was a devoted man of God, a friend to everyone he met, a mentor to many that we are only now realizing and his legacy will live on through all of those he impacted.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 25th from 4 to 6pm with the funeral service Monday June 26th at 11am. Both will be held at Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to North Tampa Young Life.
