Linda Rae Townsend, 71 years of age, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2014 in Winter Springs, FL. She was born on August 28, 1942 in Buffalo, NY to her parents Raymond and Caroline Eldredge.

Linda graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida Southern University (May 1964). She was a microbiologist with Southwest Florida Regional Medical Center in Fort Myers, FL for 27 years. She retired in 2006 and moved to Orlando, FL to be closer to her grandchildren.

Linda loved to travel and had a great fondness for nature and the outdoors, spending her summers with close friends in South Carolina. She also loved to sing, cook, and bake. Linda was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister; generous friend and kind soul who touched many lives and will be missed by all.

She is survived by her sister Carol Eldredge Swanner; her son and his wife, Timothy and Molly Townsend; and her grandchildren Laine and Reese Townsend.

A luncheon celebrating Linda's life is scheduled for Saturday, May 31, 2014 from 12:00noon to 2:30pm at the Tuskawilla Country Club, 1500 Winter Springs Blvd., Winter Springs, Florida 32708.
