Linda Rae Campbell Patrick 77, of Apopka, Florida passed away on September 24, 2024, at Advent Health Hospice from complications of COPD. Linda was born on June 08, 1947, in Peewee Valley, Kentucky to the late Maurice and June Campbell. She is survived by her loving husband, Arthur Stephen Patrick of Apopka, FL, brothers, Larry (Donna) Campbell of Springfield, TN, and Gerald (Shari) Campbell of Sand Spring, OK, and several cousins, nephews and nieces. Linda graduated with a B.S. from William Carey University in 1969 and obtained a master's degree from Rollins College in 1981.
Linda taught school in Mississippi, Miami, and Central Florida. From 1973 to 2000, she taught at Forest Lake Educational Center in Longwood, FL, progressing from 5th to 8th grade then vice principal, and principal for the last four years. She later worked for Orange County Schools from 2006 - 2011 at Jackson (now Clemente) Middle School. Linda and Steve had a total of 80 years of educational ministry.
Linda loved animals and was known by some as the "snake lady." She traveled to 32 foreign countries and 33 US states.
She was a loving and devoted wife of Stephen for 56 years. She was a 50-year member of the Forest Lake Seventh Day Adventist Church where she served many years as a deaconess and head deaconess. She sleeps awaiting the Second Advent of Jesus Christ. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that a contribution in her name may be given to a relief agency for Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
