The world lost a beloved mother and grandmother, Lillian Steele Beal, on February 20, 2021. Lillian passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by family. She was 97 years old.
Lillian was born August 16, 1923 in Newton, Mississippi to William Button Steele and Lillie Belle Pate Steele. She was the youngest of six children. On October 12, 1944, Lillian married Francis S. Beal (Frank) and together they had three children; two daughters, Carol Frances and Debra Jean, and a son, William Stuart.
In 1967 Lillian and Frank moved their family from Colorado to Florida to make Maitland their final home. She and her family were members of the First Baptist Church of Winter Park where she remained a member for 54 years. Lillian was a faithful Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart her entire life. She was a generous, loving and caring person who had many life long friends. She was also a strong and respected woman, rich in character and class.
In 1971 Lillian started her career in the real estate business. She worked hard, was driven and became a very accomplished and successful realtor in Winter Park for many years. In her retirement Lillian enjoyed watching sports, participating with her Sunday school group, and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She also loved reading books, working crossword puzzles, and visiting with family and friends.
Lillian's greatest joy in her life was being a mother. She was a wonderful mother who loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren immensely and made sure they always knew it. She will forever be missed and never forgotten.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Francis S. Beal; parents, Lillie Belle Pate Steele and William Button Steele of Newton, MS; two sisters, Dorothy Guyse of Jackson, MS and Gladys Mozingo of Laurel, MS; three brothers, Clyde Steele of San Diego, CA, James Steele of Goldsboro, NC, and Clifton Steele of Newton, MS; three sisters-in-law, Sally Steele of San Diego, CA, Addie Steele of Goldsboro, NC, and Ethel Steele of Newton, MS; two brothers-in-law, James Guyse of Jackson, MS and Bob Mozingo of Laurel, MS.
Lillian Beal is survived by her two daughters, Carol Morgan of Maitland, FL and Debra Bennett (Michael) of Amarillo, TX, and her son William Stuart Beal (Susan) of Winter Park, FL; granddaughters, Dustin Morgan (Erick) of Colorado Springs, CO, Robin Richards (Larry) of Denver, CO, Kristen Roy (Paul) of Windemere, FL, Amanda Beal of Atlanta, GA, and Rachel Beal of Winter Park, FL; grandsons, Matthew Bennett (Stephanie) of Amarillo, TX and John Bennett of Amarillo, TX; great granddaughters, Tatumn Mika of Colorado Springs, CO, Lily Lybarger and Georgia Lybarger of Denver, CO, Molly Bennett and Emery Bennett of Amarillo, TX, and Magnolia Roy of Windemere, FL; great grandsons, Caden Mika and Cole Mika of Colorado Springs, CO, and Kavi Lybarger of Denver, CO. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who love her dearly.
The family also thanks Darline Guerrier-Carlin, Felicia Reed and Naromise Guervil. You are all wonderful and took excellent care of our mother for the past year and a half. We can never thank you enough.
Services will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2021, at DeGusipe Funeral Home, 9001 N. Orlando Ave., Maitland, FL 32751. Visitation will begin at 11:30 p.m. with a Funeral Service starting at 12:30 p.m. A private graveside burial service with family will follow. Dr. Walter Jackson, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Winter Park, will be officiating.
