Leroy Carter, 95 was born in Youngstown, Ohio on July 26, 1922 and died on September 13, 2017. His parents, Madeline McAdoo and Roy Carter preceded him in death. He is survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Leroy Carter, was a World War II Veteran. He served in the U.S. Army from January 1, 1943 until February 17, 1946 when he was honorably discharged as a Private.
He spent much of his life in the Bronx, New York. In 2014, he moved to Orlando, Florida and made his residence with one of his children, Anthony Carter, his daughter in law, Jennifer Gutierrez and great granddaughter, Janiyah.
Leroy, loved to cook, especially breakfast. Eggs, biscuits, bacon, sausage, potatoes were a memory his children will always have of their father. He was also a security guard. He loved listening to the radio, the music of Sammy Davis Jr, Marvin Gay and Sam Cook. In recent years he liked the comedian Steve Harvey and the show Mike & Molly.
Leroy, was a stubborn, kind man who spent time talking about his life and history. He will be missed.
