Leonard Peter "Pete" Glennon, of Winter Park, FL died peacefully,

2018 at the age of 89. He was born on September 27, 1928 in Newark, NJ.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Madeline Elizabeth
Glennon, his daughter, Karen Elizabeth Johnson, and his grandson,
Benjamin Albert Johnson.
He is survived by his sons; Peter A. Glennon (Mary), William M. Glennon
(Lisa), Timothy P. Glennon, daughter; Patricia A. Moore (Alan), his niece;
Maribeth, grandchildren; Katie, Ashley, Sam, Patrick, Phillip, Abbie, Jack, Maddie, Emma and his many nieces and nephews.
After serving in the US Army from 1950 - 1952, he married his beautiful
wife Madeline Flynn in 1954 and moved his family to Florida in 1961. He
and Madeline provided their five children with a loving home and were an
example to all of us. After retirement from a long career in the aerospace
industry that began with Martin Marietta and concluded with McDonnell
Douglas, he and Madeline enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends
and relatives. They especially enjoyed their many trips to Tallahassee to
cheer on their beloved Florida State Seminoles. He was extremely proud of
his extended family and their Irish ancestry. He was truly "Uncle Pete" to
the many children and grandchildren of his cousins, his brother, and his
three sisters.
A member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church for over 55 years, there
will be a funeral mass, officiated by Father Richard Walsh, on Friday,
February 16 at 1:00 pm. Come with us and celebrate a life well-lived.
Interment at the Florida National Cemetery will follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Leonard P. Glennon Memorial at St Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
