Obituary

Lawrence Paul Lynch, age 69, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away June 12, 2021 after a long illness.

He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara, precious daughter Laura, son-in-law Brett and grandsons Thomas and Jackson; brothers Bobby (Jean), Rod and Jeff, sister Nancy and loving nieces Merry and Kirsten.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Arthur Wills and brother Tom (Candy).

Lawrence was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 1, 1951 to Helen and Lawrence C. Lynch. In his younger years he loved going to see Mickey Mantle play for his beloved NY Yankees. He enjoyed playing basketball in Seward Park High School and received a degree from CCNY.

While working as a Lobby Director at 445 Park Avenue, he met the love of his life, Barbara Anne Schick who was working in the same building. After a 10 month courtship they married.

He went to work for the Brokerage House Thompson McKinnon in 1981 having secured his stock broker license and continued in that career until 2007. Initially they lived in Brooklyn, then moved to St. Petersburg, FL where they made their home for 34 years. Their daughter Laura was born in April 1989.

He was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather and son-in-law to Barbara's parents, Elizabeth and Charles. He enjoyed watching horse racing with Charles at Aqueduct and Belmont racetracks in NY and Tampa Bay Downs in FL. One of his favorite pass-times was calling in to the Paul Porter Sports radio show on Saturdays. His nick-name for the show was "Brooklyn". His grandsons were the light of his life and he was looking forward to the birth of his granddaughter Isabella Rose in September.

Larry will be forever in our hearts and greatly missed. Love never dies.
