Insana, Lawrence Joseph, 70, of Orlando, FL passed away on January 3, 2015. He was born to the late Joseph and Anna Insana on February 18, 1944 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Lawrence was a devoted son, brother and uncle. In Florida, he worked 35 years for Publix Supermarkets. Prior to that, he worked at the family business, the Orlando Motor Lodge. Lawrence was a lifelong enthusiast in transportation, public safety and weather sciences. He was an active member of the American Meteorological Society, regularly attending annual conferences. Lawrence was also a visible and vocal ambassador for Lynx, Amtrak, SunRail passengers plus employees. He never missed the opportunity to travel nationally by train or locally by bus. A devout Catholic, Lawrence served as usher at St. James Cathedral.

He was preceded in his passing by his parents, sister Frances and brothers Frank and Sandy. He is survived by his sisters Frances Dolce and Grace Mills.

Arrangements are under the care of DeGusipe Funeral Home of Maitland. Viewing and services will commence 9:30 a.m. Thursday January 8, 2015 at St. James Cathedral in downtown Orlando.
