Laura Cempella, 79 of Clermont, FL, formerly of Glade Springs, WV, passed away on January 21, 2018 after battling a short illness.

A nurse for over 30 years, Laura loved medicine and helping others. After retiring from nursing, she and her husband, Dr. Bernard Cempella, relocated to Florida.

A resident of Clermont for 14+ years Laura was an avid sports fan. She loved WVU football and was a passionate UK Wildcat basketball supporter. A fierce competitor, Laura loved playing golf, socializing with her friends and spending time with her granddaughter who was the "apple of her eye".

Laura is predeceased by her father Robert Cooper, mother Maxine Gulley, and husband Dr. Bernard Cempella. She is survived in death by her brother Robert Cooper of Melbourne and her sons Brad Cempella and Jason Cempella of Orlando.
