L. Bob Martin of St. Pete Beach was born July 20, 1940 in South Boston, Virginia passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018. He lived much of his life in Dayton, Ohio before relocating to Florida. He was a graduate of the University of Dayton, served in the U.S. Navy and had a long successful business career.
He enjoyed boating, being around the water, reading, learning new things and getting together with his "coffee club".
Bob was a storyteller, conversationalist and had an uncanny ability to connect with anyone. He was a loving husband and wonderful father who valued his family and friends deeply.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Shirley, daughter Cameron and husband Greg Stoeckel, son Michael, two grandchildren, Lauren and Jason, brother Grey and sister Trina Melzoni and husband Tom, extended family and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, February 24 beginning at 1:30 P.M. until time of Celebration of Life Service at 2 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the SPCA or St. Petersburg Free Clinic.
