Kenneth Martin Prickett, 91, passed away peacefully at his home in Lake Mary, FL on Friday night, March 16, 2018, with his wife of 67 years, Beatrice Prickett, by his side. Ken was born May 17, 1926, in Vincentown, New Jersey to Newbold Prickett and Emma Hough Prickett. He graduated from Pemberton High School and raised his family in Burlington Township, New Jersey. He spent two years in the Navy during WWII where he had a few close calls on the USS New York. He returned to New Jersey and eventually owned the Esso/Exxon service station on the New Jersey side of the Burlington-Bristol Bridge during a time when full service was the norm. He took pride in greeting patrons as they approached the pumps, and going over and above the expected. He also leased up to 3 other service stations that others managed, built boats and developed land in the area of his birth. In 1951, he attended a silent auction for lots on Long Beach Island. He obtained a lot of his choice and, over the next few years, a house was built in Surf City, NJ. It was a place of great fun and fond memories for family and friends. During his retirement, he and Beatrice along with their dog and, sometimes with their granddaughters, enjoyed traveling in their RV, visiting all the states in the US (except Hawaii) as well as Canada and Mexico. Finding kindred spirits with fellow RVers, they resided in the Great Outdoors Resort Community in Titusville, FL for over 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice, his son, Jeffrey (Linda) of Winter Park, FL and granddaughters, Heather (Richard) and Rachel, both of Titusville, FL. He was preceded in death by his elder son, Chris (Susan) of Viera, FL.
