Kenneth Selbourne Mowatt affectionately known as Ken, Daddy, Papa, Uncle Kenneth, and Max was born on May 28, 1933 in Morant Bay, St. Thomas, Jamaica to the late Louis and Daisy Mowatt. He entered into the loving hands of his Savior in heaven on Wednesday, January 18, 2017.

Ken was always a curious hands-on child, and when he was old enough he assisted his Contractor father in building schools in Morant Bay. This is where he began his craft and learned how to create, build and fix everything. In 1954, he enlisted in the Jamaican Defense Force where he began training as an Electrician.

He continued his education at Kingston Technical School, and several correspondence courses, and became an Electronics Technician. Upon release from the Army he worked for the Jamaica Telephone Company as a Communications Technician from which he resigned and joined the International Aeradio Corp., at the Jamaica International Airport in Kingston where he repaired airplane communication systems.

In 1962 he met his wife Jean and married on February 2, 1963 in Kingston, Jamaica. In 1969, they migrated to the United States to secure a better future for their 3 children. A year later their last child was born Brooklyn New York. In 1975, they purchased a house for the family in Queens, New York. He completely reconstructed the house with the help of his wife, his children, and a few friends. He entertained many friends and family in that home, hosting many holiday dinners and the yearly New Year's Eve party that drew the masses to his basement.

Ken provided for his family working as an Electronics Technician at Western Union from 1969-1984 and then ABC Television from 1984-1986.

In 1986, he and his wife Jean relocated to Orlando with their youngest child where he worked as a car salesman for 5 years before retiring.

In 1996, Ken gave his life to the Lord and became a servant in his church, Grace Bible Church of Central Florida, for many years. He served on the Sound team, the Men's Choir, set designer for plays, assisted in building sound boards and even constructed the tithe box in the church lobby.

Ken was a fun-loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was an amazing provider. His family never needed or wanted for anything. He did whatever he needed to do to make sure his family was secure. If he didn't buy it he would make it. He could fix or build anything. One of his favorite things to say was "put it in the garage" and miraculously it was fixed the next day.
He was an encourager and supporter to everyone especially his children and grandchildren. He made them feel invincible in whatever they pursued.

He is survived by Jean, his wife of 54 years, children, Marlene, Steve, Earl and Johnine, grandchildren, Terri, Robyn, Renee' and Ryanna and his great grandson Korey. He leaves behind brothers Leslie (Pensri) Dudley (Daphne), sisters Monica (UC) Kathleen (Neville) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
