Obituary

Kenneth James Evans ("Coach," "Superman," "Pops" "Pappa Bear," "Pawpaw") spent his last days on this earth at home, surrounded by his children, grandchildren and his loving and devoted wife of 32-years, and died peacefully on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at the age of 70.

Kenny was born on September 23, 1952 in Euclid, Ohio to Richard Layton Evans Sr. (1925 - 2002) and Rose Dilettoso Evans (b.1928). He would go on to join the United States Marine Corp. in 1971, and upon his completion of service he began working for the Yellow Pages and was one of their top salesmen for many years. In 1989 he began his landscaping business - 'Evans Fix and Evans Landscaping' and would retire after 30 years in 2019.

Kenny was a devoted and loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He had an incredible sense of humor which began at an early age, and as a teen he would lift his very petite mother and set her on top of their refrigerator just for a laugh. In his free time, he couldn't get enough when it came to sports. He was a huge fan of baseball and softball, and one of his life's greatest joys was having the opportunity to coach both his children, and grandchildren in the sport. He also coached many traveling teams, beginning with the Misfits, and went on to coordinate the Umpire schedule for all of Walt Disney World Sports Complex Softball games to include Umpiring at Disney World Sports Complex himself for many, many years.

Kenny was also quite the cook. He could make homemade pizzas that would knock your socks off, and was the only one out of his siblings that ever mastered his mom's peanut butter fudge recipe, and would make it for his own children often.

Kenny is survived and missed by his loving wife and best friend, Lisa K; and his children, Ame, Jamie (Ashley) and Donnie (Kirsty). Forever cherished and remembered by his seven grandchildren, Ashley, Hailey, Jacob, Cody, Alexis, Addison, and McKenzie, and four great grandchildren, Jaiden, Amylah, Avyn, Baby Jettsen (due any day) and Seth. His Mother Rose, his siblings, Sam and Annette (Ron) and countless nieces, nephews and friends who will all make sure his memory lives on.

Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Richard Layton Evans Sr., brothers: Anthony (Cheryl) and Richard (Joyce), and sisters: Maryann (Hank) and Eva.
