Obituary

Kathi Belcher of Pinellas Park, FL and formerly of Winter Garden, FL went on to heaven on January 27, 2024, with our family and her children Jonathan, Lauren and Sam at her bedside.

Kathleen Oliver Stackpole was born to Mary Isabel Oliver of Newport, Rhode Island and John Russell Stackpole of Porters Falls, WV on March 31, 1947, at the US Navy Hospital in Newport. Kathi was an inquisitive child and lived in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Norfolk, VA, Green Cove Springs and Clearwater, FL with her mother Mary, stepfather Tom Zimmer and brothers Steve, Tom and sister Gretchen. Kathi Zimmer graduated from Dunedin High School where she played in the Scottish Highlander Band and sang in the Chorus. She attended St. Petersburg College. Kathi moved to Miami where she was a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines and worked for the Culverhouse Law Firm. Her son Keith Marshall Parisella would be born at Jackson Hospital. Her children Jonathan, Lauren, and Sam were born at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater. Kathi lived in Temple Terrace, Tampa, Sunset Grove Lane in Clearwater and on Holiday Drive in Tarpon Springs, FL. Kathi was an accomplished Real Estate agent in Clearwater, Dunedin, and Safety Harbor.

Kathi married Rev. Rusty Belcher and returned to Dunedin. Kathi enrolled in Eckerd College, St. Petersburg, from where she would go on to earn her master's degree in counseling from Argosy University, Tampa. Kathi served as a Sunday School teacher, Acolyte Mother, and United Methodist Women's Circle Leader.

She prayed daily for her children and grandchildren. She would serve seven churches over forty years. She loved reading and her book clubs. She loved small groups, Bible studies, women's groups and eating at church.

Kathi and Rusty would move to the other Florida, Tallahassee where she served as Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity, introducing the Blitz Build and building six new homes in one week for working families. Holy Sweat Equity!

Kathi invested her life in the lives of children. Mrs. Belcher taught at Gulf Middle School in New Port Richey, and South Ward School in Clearwater. She was a gifted school counselor at Freedom High school and for many years at Southwest Middle School in Dr. Phillips, Orlando. We thank God for Kathi's strength and courage which she leaves to her family and all her friends. She is with Jesus in heaven and living her new eternal life. She was a funny, gifted, insightful leader and friend to all. Amen.

Kathi believed in the value of students going to camp. She supported our local church, district and conference camps. Along with cards and flowers, Memorial Gifts are being received to the "Kathi Belcher Camp Fund" for weekend and summer events. You may bring your gift to church or mail it and make payable to: Warren Willis Camp, 4990 Picciola Rd. Fruitland Park, FL 34731
