Kathleen "Kathy" Strandberg, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2023 at age 84. She was born in Chicago, Illinois to Peter and Collette Schavitz, where she attended Maine Township High School, and later met her husband of 63 years, Jim. Following her move to Central Florida, she was an administrative and benefits specialist for Stromberg-Carlson and Siemens. She was a long-time member of All Souls parish in Sanford, where she sang in the choir for 41 years, and was involved in parish nursing home ministries. She shared her love of music with many, especially her grandchildren. She was an extraordinary woman who cherished her family and her faith, and the way she lived her life was an example to us all. She is survived by her husband Dr. James "Jim" Strandberg, daughters Dr. Jane Gibson (Ron), and Karen Falbo (Anthony), son Kenneth Strandberg (Tina), grandchildren Nicholas Falbo (Marianela), Kathleen "Katie" Gibson (Seth Daniels), Vincent Falbo (Megan), Megan Burdick (Neal), Jennifer Gibson, and Nathalie Falbo, great grandchildren Carson, Alma, and Blake, sisters Charlene Crosby, Suzanne Stoeck, and Linda DeKreek, and brother, Fr. Peter Schavitz, CSSR. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday December 9, 2023 at 10:00 am, St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Winter Park.
