Obituary

Justina Colon (Tinin) went to be with the Lord, peacefully in Orlando, Florida on June 13, 2023, at the age of 82. Justina was born on June 17, 1940, in Humacao, Puerto Rico, to Fernando Santana and Petra Velazquez. She later married Juan Colon on August 13, 1958, in Buffalo, New York. Justina lived her life serving others and she also worked for the Buffalo School System.

Justina was a wonderful homemaker and beautiful person inside and out, with an enormous heart. She was unselfish, kind and passionate; she loved to sing, read, cook, knit & crochet. She was a devoted Christian and a strong pillar of her community and family; and she made an impact on many lives. Justina taught her family to be generous and God fearing; she beckoned us to be good to others; and always prayed for others and her family. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, positive attitude and unconditional love. She will be forever remembered for all the heart she shared with friends and family. Justina truly loved each of them - and if you knew her, you knew it.

Justina is survived by her husband Juan Colon; daughters Linda Colon, Jehovana Gonzalez (Jose); and son Johnny Colon; Grandchildren Melissa, Lynette, Alicia, Johnny, Jr., Joey, and Christina; Nieces Anna, and Diane; and nephew Angelo. She is also survived by ten Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by siblings Roberto, Anna and Maximo; Grandson Michael; and Nieces, Zulma and Annette.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 6 to 8pm.

A funeral service is scheduled for June 24, 2023, at 2:00PM. Reverend Raquel Santana will officiate the ceremony followed by a graveside service with the following ball bearers: Jose Gonzalez, Jose Gonzalez, Jr., Joseph Castricone, Johnny Colon, Jr., Luis Velazquez, Jr., and Johnny Colon.
