June Claunch was born January 5, 1941 in Cairo, IL. She moved to Florida at the age of 14 and spent most of her adult years in Ocoee, Florida. June went to be with the Lord on March 24, 2017 at the age of 76. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing.
June was a loving mother to her son, Adron and her daughter Tammy. She spent years at the base ball field and touched the lives of so many children. She was known as Mama June by many and always had a house full of kids.
Her early career was spent at the Shop & Go where she was adored by everyone who ever entered the store. She later went to work at Disney as a Prep Chef and was loved by all of her coworkers. She retired in 2010.
Her favorite title was that of Nanny. Her oldest granddaughter, Brandy Claunch, gave her the name being the first born. Stetson, Cody, Austin, Jordan, Dallas and great-granddaughter Aurora came along and Nanny soon became her full time job. She loved and spoiled her grand kids as much as any grandparent could. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.
June was known as a tough woman, hard worker, loving mom and amazing Nanny. She fought lung cancer with strength and determination. She will be missed by so many.
The family has requested a private service. She will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held in the coming weeks. The family wishes to thank everyone for their calls, texts, messages and prayers.
