Obituary

Julio Manabat passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on May 9th, 2026. He was born in Magalang, Pampanga (Philippines) on September 15th, 1942.

After graduating from a small rural high school, he avoided the hard life of a country farmer to join and serve a 24 year career in the United States Navy and retiring in Orlando, FL. He then went on to work for the United States Postal Service and worked his remaining working years to happily retire early at the age of 62.

Julio is survived by his wife Pricilla and his children: Rommel and Loreen Sorrentino (Victor), grandchildren: Arielle Adelsperger (Seth) and Olivia, Jonah and Jasper; two siblings: Gimeno Manabat and Lydia Tad-y (Eduardo). He also had many loving nieces and nephews, as well as a close, extended family of half brothers and sisters in the U.S. and in the Philippines. He was a devoted husband and caretaker of his wife of 60 years, a loving father and loyal friend.

Upon retirement, Julio became an avid golfer and regularly golfed every Thursday for the remainder of his long and peaceful life. He also visited back home and traveled semi-regularly to see family in the Philippines every so often until travel became too challenging in his later years.

Ultimately, becoming a grandfather was one of his greatest joys and he continued to enjoy his grandchildren with regular visits throughout the years.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pampangueno Association of Central Florida (PACF) exclusively for food distribution in Magalang, Pampanga: 324 Grand Valley Drive Lake Mary, FL. 32746
