Julie Iris Rodoreda Maxfield died peacefully in her sleep on April 16, 2020 at age 92. Originally from Perth, W. Australia, she leaves behind her love of 76 years, SMSgt Ret, Gerard P. (Max) Maxfield, 7 children, 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Julie and Max met in Perth while he was stationed there during WWII. They were married at St. Thomas's in Claremont, W. Aus, in Oct 1945 and reunited in the US after she took the "bridal train" and sailed to America.

For over 20 years the military couple and their children traveled the world. Insatiably curious, quick-witted, and an attentive listener, she was admired and loved by her friends, her American and Australian families, and fellow parishioners at St. Margaret Mary's in Winter Park. Julie leaves a deep well of silence in which we remember her.
