Obituary

Julia Hall Gravley, 81, of Lake Mary, FL died on March 15th after a battle with cancer. Julia was born in Dalton, GA and lived there until her recent move to FL. Her family is comforted in knowing that her faith in Jesus means that she is healed and is in heaven forever with Him. Julia attended Five Springs Methodist Church and Fellowship Church in Dalton, GA. After her move to FL she attended Lake Mary Church where, even in a short time, made many new friends. She graduated from Valley Point High School in Dalton and married JW (Chub) Gravley in 1959. They were married 59 years until his death in 2018. Julia worked at First National Bank of Dalton followed by Shaw Industries and Mohawk Industries before her retirement. She also was an active member of Kiwanis Club of Dalton. She and Chub were actively involved in their children's lives, serving in Southeast Whitfield High School Band Boosters.and coaching and attending many ballgames and band events.

Julia is survived by her children: Scott (Laurie) Gravley of Raleigh, NC and Ginger Stegmayer of Lake Mary, FL. Julia adored her five grandchildren: Courtney (Kyle) Jackson of Wake Forest, NC, Kristin Gravley and Tyler (Shelby) Gravley of Raleigh, NC. Also Ariana Morgan and Alexander Morgan of Lake Mary, FL. Julia also had five great-grandchildren: Kinsey Volker, Conner Volker, Peyton Jackson and Evie Jackson all of Wake Forest, NC and Jackson Gravley of Raleigh, NC.

She is also survived by her beloved sister and brother: Donna Hall of Santa Fe, NM;
Rachel (Don) Ewalt of Marietta, GA; Lisa (Barry) Springfield and Tim Hall of Dalton, GA. Also nieces and nephews. Julia was preceded in death by her husband, JW (Chub) Gravley; her parents, Hughdon and Lovella Hall; her sister, Marthann Hall.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network online at pancan.org. Her memorial service will be in Dalton, GA in May. Further details to be announced.
