Obituary

Judy Ann Wellinger Henry passed on Tuesday morning, June 21 in the care of Cornerstone Hospice of Clermont. She was born July 18, 1942 in Nebraska to Bill and Margaret Wellinger. Judy was the firstborn of four children. She was preceded in death by both parents and brother Scott Wellinger and is survived by two sisters, Marty Schmidt of Denver and Susie Wellinger of Santa Fe.
Judy attended Winter Park High School, graduating in 1960. She attended the University of Florida where she was a member of Delta Gamma. She remained active in reunion activities with her high school classmates with whom she continued a treasured lifelong friendship.
In 1964 Judy married R.V. Henry, with whom she enjoyed 52 years of marriage. They were blessed with four children: Scott Henry, Lisa Henry Drury (Jimmy), Andy Henry and Terri Jean Davis and Mike and Laura Henry. They have proudly enjoyed ten grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Judy worked at Cappleman's Insurance Agency in Winter Garden for 25 years where she met and loved not only her co-workers but people in the community. She continued her career at the City of Ocoee Public Works Department for twenty years, retiring in 2007. Throughout this time of working and raising her own children, Judy spent numerous hours participating in school and youth sports activities and civic functions. The Henry Home was blessed to have a door which was never locked. Because of this, it became a temporary home-away-from-home for many, who lived in Judo's/Miss Henry/Nana's heart until she passed.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that a contribution be made to the Cornerstone Hospice of Clermont. A celebration of life will be at the First United Methodist Church of Winter Garden on North Lakeview Avenue at 3:00 pm Friday June 24. The family will receive guests and provide refreshments immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall, and have requested casual attire
