Judith (Judy) Kay Polito 69, of Hopwood, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2024, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA with her family by her side.
Judy was born on January 12, 1955, the daughter of John and Julia (Tabakovich) Volpe.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and her mother-in-law, James F. and Retha J. Polito and several aunt and uncles.
Judy graduated from Uniontown High School, Class of 1972. Judy was the recipient of the GIFT OF LIFE, a double lung transplant, that has literally breathed life in her since then. It was an honor and a gift that can never be repaid.
Judy is survived by her loving husband and high school sweetheart of 49 years, James F. Polito, Jr., son, James F. Polito III (Roger Denny), daughter, Gina Marie Polito (Joseph R. Pugliesi, Jr.), grandson, whom she adored, Joseph Rocco Pugliesi, III (Morgan Amaroso), brother, John Robert Volpe and wife Anna Grace, nieces, Marci (Volpe) Borba and husband Chris and Elizabeth (Volpe) Georgi and husband Charlie, sisters-in-law, Madonna Nicklow (Dave McCormick) and Jamie Hoone and husband Samuel, nieces, Kelli Ash and husband Larry, Kristi Roasano and husband Chris, and Katrina Kingan (Mark Capan), special lifelong friends, Debbie, Lorraine, Jackie, June, Ida and Wanda and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and family will be received in the DeGusipe Funeral Home and Crematory, 65 N. Gallatin Ave., Uniontown, PA, Stacey A. Dolfi, FD on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, July 11, 2024 until 9:15 AM when a blessing service will be held in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 61 Mill St., Uniontown, PA. Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA.
