In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Daniel Thomas O'Brien, her brother David Missigman, sister Judith (Missigman) Curci, and sister Sharon (Missigman) Scarfo. Joyanne is survived by her children: daughter Monica O'Brien-Cowart, son Daniel T. O'Brien Jr. Seven grandchildren: Caitlin Mehlich (Mark Mehlich), Callie Canfield (Zach Canfield), Marycait Runkel (Brad Runkel), Connor Beare, Joseph O'Brien, Claire O'Brien, and Spencer Beare. Seven great grandchildren: Ashton Runkel, Cooper Mehlich, Adeline Runkel, Sutton Canfield, Carter Mehlich, Everly Runkel, and Beckett Runkel. Eight siblings and their families, many cousins, a huge extended family, and many friends who loved her dearly.
Joyanne graduated from St. Mary's Catholic High School, Williamsport, PA in 1961. Over the years she worked at Sears, Public Bank, O'Brien's Deli and Catering, The Stable Antiques and Gifts, and Emerald Event and Catering Company.
Joyanne was a devoted sister, wife, mother, and Mimi. She loved spending time with her husband, family, and friends. When the grandchildren and great-grandchildren arrived, she loved being with them and spoiling them! She would sing to them, "A bushel and a peck, and a hug around the neck!".
She loved cooking, shopping, decorating, beach trips, and working outside with her plants and flowers. Many laughs were had during shopping trips with her sisters, or "grands." They
often bought so much the car would be stuffed with packages and barely room to sit.
Joyanne was the best gift giver, and she never forgot to send cards for all occasions!
She went by many names, Joy, Sis, Sissy, Hun, Mimi, Meems, and Lassie. No matter what you called her, you always felt her love and attention. She was always thinking of others, and how to help them.
