Obituary

A time to be born
Joshua Lockwood was born in Miami, Florida on December 23, 1948, to the late Joshua Lockwood Sr. and Rosie Lee Lockwood.

A time to learn
Joshua attended school at Miami Northwestern Sr. High in Dade County, Florida. Later he worked at Pan American Tire company, Eastern Airlines, BellSouth, Carnival Airlines, and Pan American Airlines.

A time to Love
Joshua met Carole Garner in 1967 while going to the movies. Later they fell in love and married on June 6, 1969, and to this union they were blessed with one daughter Sharon Lockwood who preceded him in death.

A time to Live
Joshua and Carole lived in Miami, Florida for many years, until his job transferred him. He relocated to Lakeland, Florida in 1999, and later moved to Deltona, Florida to work at Pan American Airlines until he retired.

A time for Hobbies
Joshua had a very special love for fishing, he also loved music, wrestling, sports cars, and racing them. He had a passion for cooking on the grill and took pride in maintaining his home and a well-manicured yard.

A time to Die
In December 5, 2018 when his work was done, he was called home to his eternal home. May you sleep in peace. You will be missed by so many loved ones and friends. Your love of God and reading the bible everyday has touched the lives of so many of us. Thanks for allowing God to use you as a beacon to show us the goodness of God. We love you, but God loves you more.

Joshua leaves to cherish his loving memories a devoted and loving wife of 49-years of marriage, Carole Lockwood. One son, Louis Grant III (Trena Grant), one son-in-law Kelly Anselme. One brother, Alphonzo Lockwood (Mary Lockwood) Miami, Florida, one sister Albertha Todero. Two brother-in-laws, Clifton Garner, Lloyd Garner (Tina Garner). Three grandchildren, Josalyn Anselme, Tazhuna Chase, Joshua Smith. One great-granddaughter Reign Chase. A host of loving nieces, nephews, cousin, and friends.


A Visitation will be held December 10, 2018 at our Sanford Chapel from 6 PM to 8 PM. The Funeral Service will be held following day December 11, 2018 also at our Sanford Chapel at 2 PM followed by a Graveside Service at Hollywood Cemetery at 3 PM.
