Obituary

Josetta S. Owens "Pokie", 67, of Orlando, FL, passed away in her home on August 20, 2016, with family by her side. She was born to the late Joseph and Audrey Keenan, July 21, 1949 in South Bend, In.
She grew up in her home town and graduated high school from Washington High. In 1980, Josetta moved to the Central Orlando area with her husband at the time Robert Owens Sr. to raise their family. At this time Josetta was a child care provider in her home to many children for a few years and as well as raising her own family. When relocating to Deltona in 1991, she would continue raising her children and at this time her twins were in high school and her two younger children were just starting elementary school. During her seperation and divorce to her husband Robert in 1996, Josetta started working multi jobs. In 1999 Josetta would start working in a quiet little Post Office in the small town of Enterprise, FL. and would continue to work here until she retired in 2014.
Throughout the years Josetta would touch many peoples' hearts and everyone who knew her would say what a kind, giving, loving and friendly person she was. Her life was based on family and she was the strength of them all and will continue to be. Josetta had many things that she enjoyed doing such as reading, traveling, gardening, cooking and just being around her family.
Josetta is survived by her brother Dennis Keenan of Indiana; her life partner Wayne Taylor of Florida; her four children, twins Jenica O'Braden of Alabama and Jessica Groves of Florida, Brandilyn Owens of Florida and Taylor Owens of Florida; her step-childern SGTMAJ R.W. Owens II, U.S.M.C. of North Carolina, John Taylor "JP" of Florida and Michelle Taylor of Florida; she also is survived by 14 grandchildren; Dylan and Trinton Mueller, William O'Braden V, Ashtan and Darian Lovett, Alexis Ruiz, Kaytlynn Anderson, Sadie Owens, Robert Owens III, Aaron and Aidden Owens, Ashlynn Moreland, Priscilla Taylor and Ira Girvin II.
A memorial picnic will be at Gemini Springs Park in Debary, FL on Saturday August 27, 2016 starting at noon at Pavilion #5. The family would like to welcome all to come out and share their memories of Josetta Owens, this wonderful sister, mother, nana, companion and friend that we all loved.
