Josephine Raz, 94, of Longwood, Florida passed away on September 1st, 2022. Josephine was born on November 8, 1929 in Tuguegarao, Cagayan, Philippines and was predeceased by her parents Quirico Tan Carag and Benita Pepan Carag. She is the 2nd oldest among 7 siblings. She is survived by her two sisters: my mother Evangeline and my aunt, Marita.

Josephine was a graduate of the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy. She flew to the United States and worked as a Pharmacy technician but after settling in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, she met a dazzling medical Filipino doctor by the name of Valentin Raz. Jo and Val married on September 9, 1967. On September 9, 2017, Dr. and Mrs. Valentin Raz celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary surrounded and attended by all their closest friends and families.

Josephine was a devout wife to her beloved husband, Valentin. She and her husband relish and enjoy what life has to offer especially spending time with friends playing mahjong, traveling around the world, going to the casinos, going on cruises, and just being together. Josephine was also a devout sacristan at this church. She took this role very seriously by giving of her time, energy and money to which she strongly supports. She is a woman of prayer and spiritual discipline and strength that even to her final days, I know she prayed and longed to hear the voice of God calling her home- her Heavenly home.

Josephine was a woman of deep faith just like her late husband, Valentin. She was a blessing to many who knew her. She will be greatly missed by those who've grown to love her and cherish her - not to mention quite a great cook when it comes to gathering at her home!
This one thing I know. Josephine will always be looking out below us and say, "It's such a wonderful life up here!"
