Josephine Bernice Shaw DiClemente died unexpectedly 12/27/2024 at ninety years young.
Josephine "Jo" is survived by her son Michael "Dec" DiClemente and his wife Dot, her adult grandchildren Danielle, Michael, and Sophia. She is also survived by her great grandson Eliot. She is survived by her Boston Terrier fur baby Sadie. She is survived by her niece Janice Short. She is preceded in death by her spouse Lieutenant Colonel Luis DiClemente.
Josephine was born in Texas in 1934. She grew up on a dairy farm as the youngest of her siblings. She graduated dean's list from Baylor University (Go Bears) with her nursing degree. She was also first chair in the Baylor marching band playing trumpet. She married the love of her life Louis in her family home.
Jo and Di had many adventures prior to the birth of their son Mike 1965. Jo worked full time as a pediatric nurse both in private practice and the public school system. In 1989, while working full time, Jo obtained her Master's degree from FSU (Go Noles) in social work and continued her career with the Seminole County School System. She was social worker of the year 1996 and Humanitarian of the year 1995.
Jo continued to be adventurous traveling to Alaska, her dream. She was able to kayak, river raft, and dog sled with her granddaughter Danielle. She loved Costco. She loved Landry's Dallas Cowboys, Johnson's Miami Canes, and Coach Prime's 1989 Sugar Bowl (iykyk). Stray animals seemed to find her house and she hosted many.
