Obituary

Joseph "Joe" Peter Mirisola died unexpectedly in Winter Park, FL at the age of 62. He was born in South Boston, Massachusetts to Joseph Peter Mirisola & Claire Mirisola on August 8, 1961. At a young age, his family moved to Orlando, FL where he remained for the rest of his life.

After graduating from Oakridge High School he joined the Army where he served as a sergeant. He was later deployed to South Korea and there he found his passion for graphics and illustrations. He married his first wife, Theresa Mirisola, and together they had two children, Tom & Joey Mirisola. In 1997 he married his second wife, Lori Mirisola, where he added to his family two daughters, Lindsey Lanier White & Marley Mirisola.

Joe was a self-employed artist who specialized in stained and etched glass. He was vibrant and eccentric and he lit up every room he entered. He had a deep love for his family, friends, art, and music. He took on the title of "dad" to many and treated them all as his own. He wore many hats as a father; he was a coach, a teacher, a friend, and a hero. Joe was adventurous, fearless, and strong… but always wore his heart on his sleeve. You typically would find him in the kitchen cooking breakfast, watching cartoons, humming songs to himself, or fussing over his plants. He will be remembered for his unconditional love, vibrant wardrobe, playful spirit, and zest for life.

He is survived by his children: Tom Mirisola (son), Joey Mirisola (son), Lindsey Lanier White (daughter), & Marley Mirisola (daughter); his grandchildren: Jaxon Mirisola (grandson), Mia Mirisola (granddaughter), Braxton Mirisola (grandson), & Wren Bolan (granddaughter); and his siblings: Linda Larson (sister) & Sue Anderson (sister). He is preceded in death by his parents: Joseph Peter Mirisola (father) & Claire Mirisola (mother), and his siblings: Peter Mirisola (brother) & Carol Wyandt (sister).
