Joseph Francis Glester, 64, Casselberry, FL, died at home on August 12, 2014. He was born on September 2, 1949 in Toms River, NJ to Catherine and Joseph Glester, raised in New Lenox, IL, and spent three years in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Joe worked at U.S. Steel Mill in Joliet, IL, before moving to Florida in 1977. He worked for thirty-two years at Walt Disney World as a machinist. He was an avid soccer player, coach and fan. While living in Germany, he even played for a German soccer club. Joe enjoyed his sports cars, vacations, playing cards and games with family, golf with his brother, Mike, and hosting the family for holidays. Joe is survived by his wife, Jan; children, Amy, Sean, Katy and Megan; sister, Maureen Beam; brother, Michael Glester; sister, Patricia James and one grandchild Aubrey Elizabeth.

A visitation will be held at DeGuispe Funeral Home in Maitland, Florida on Saturday, August 16, 2014 from 5 – 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the National Parkinson's Foundation.

A celebration of life will be held at the Maitland Civic Center in Maitland, Florida on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, guests are invited to bring a soccer ball, which will be donated to a local youth organization, in Joe's memory
