Joseph Ray Eason, 53, of Chuluota, Florida passed peacefully, surrounded by family on December 1, 2021 after a 3 year courageous battle with ALS.
Joe was born on August 20, 1968 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was a U. S. Army veteran and received the Purple Heart after injuries sustained while serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom. After his military service Joe became an Information Technology specialist at Shades of Green, the military resort at Disney World Orlando. He was then hired as a network administrator at Leidos, a national defense and information technology company. He was forced into early retirement due to his ALS.
Joe is survived by his wife, Karen Hurt Eason, who lovingly cared for him during his final years. He is also survived by his four children Ashley (Rob) Rebstein, Fayth Eason, Joseph Eason Jr., Xander Eason and granddaughter Cassidy Rebstein. Survivors also include his sister, Janna Eason, and brothers John Eason Jr. and Lloyd Eason. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary Frances and John Eason Sr., his sister, Karen Eason and his stepson Austin Mueller.
Memorial contributions in Joe's memory can be made to Always For ALS Inc., 800 Bannock Terr., Palm Beach Gardens, Florida 33418. He will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
