Jose "Joe" Montes, 80 years old, is the only son of a Spanish father (from Barcelona, Spain) and a Filipina mother. He lost his father from a heart attack at age 10. He grew up with his maternal uncle and his family of 12 children who adopted him like his own.

Joe married Maria Montes in 1960. He was 25 years old and Maria was 22. They were married for 54 years. Together they raised 7 children. Despite a modest income he worked hard as the sole breadwinner of the family to send his 7 children to the best private Catholic schools in the Philippines. All 7 children are college graduates.

Joe has a beautiful love for life! He lived for his family. He had innumerable friends. He gave and shared generously wid his family and friends. He had a great sense of humor, loved life and loved people. He was quick to help people in need.

Joe is survived by his wife and 7 children, 10 grandchildren, 3 daughters-in-law and 3 sons-in-law along with countless friends who love and respect him.
