Jose R Gonzalez was born on July 30, 1928 in Ciales, Puerto Rico, and went to rest with the Lord on February 8, 2016, at age 87. He leaves his loving wife of 64 years, his reason to live, Tomasita Montes... his three children, Alma, Beverly and Jose, their spouses... Roberto and Custodio, which were like sons to him, and AnaLuz. He also left behind eight grandchildren that adored him... MayLynn, Tania, Tito, Frankie, Alex, Josean, Alexandra and Marlene... and ten beautiful Great Grandkids. Of his 14 siblings, he leaves three still with us, Catalino, Awilda and Iris, and many nieces and nephews he loved.

Jose lived his life working hard to provide the best quality of life for his family. He served in the US Army, became a Barber and was the much loved Town Barber for over 50 years, leaving a following of so many that enjoyed and share memories of his "Shop" stories and the laughter... he was quite the entertainer and a natural Stand Up comedian, and was always telling jokes and stories to make us laugh. His family and Friends will remember him always as the "Best" Father, Grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, friend, etc.... there was nothing asked of him that he said NO to. He was ALWAYS ready to help his children and family in any matter they needed. In his older years he visited his siblings every weekend, delivering groceries and goodies to each with love and kindness. His generosity, kindness and contagious laughter will be with us all, in our hearts, forever.

My Father loved God, and leaves a Legacy of Family Love, Respect and Laughter. He will be missed, but the memory of him will always put a smile on our faces and warm our hearts.
