My Father, Jorge Alberto Carcasona, 89, passed away the morning of December 28th, 2022, at our home.
Jorge was born on August 3, 1933, to his parents, Jose Carcasona & Aida (Parravicini) Carcasona in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Growing up, Jorge had an incredibly difficult childhood. This would go on to shape his life as an adult and would inspire him to be a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle.
As a child Jorge made his way from Buenos Aires to the Pampas of Argentina and found solace working on a cattle ranch as a Gaucho. He was called to serve in the Armed Forces of the Argentine Republic at the age of 18 which brought him back to Buenos Aires. There he met Carmen San Martin at a dance at the Centro Gallego of Buenos Aires, the pair went on to eventually marry. Jorge said that when he met and married my mother is when he came to know the true meaning of family.
Jorge was predeceased by his parents, Jose and Aida Carcasona, his loving wife Carmen (San Martin) Carcasona and sister Florencia Simonetti. He is survived by his daughter, Susana Carcasona-Lacore, son-in-law, Martin Lacore, and his beloved granddaughters Veronica Carcasona and Emily Lacore, along with all his nieces and nephews who he truly cherished.
Our family is grateful to have had Jorge in our lives and to have been truly loved by him. He is now at peace and reunited with his soul mate, family and friends who went before him.
