Jonathan "Jon" Ray
Wilson
Mar 20, 1979 — Apr 20, 2026
Jonathan “Jon” Ray Wilson died unexpectedly in his home in Deltona on April 20, 2026, at the age of 47. Jon is survived by his mother, Terri Gibson (Dave) of Deltona, father Rick Wilson of Rogers, Arkansas, brothers, Nathan of Clarksville, TN, Daniel of Pensacola, Grandmother Cheryl Jachens (Ralph) of Sublimity and his faithful dog companion, Chip. He is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews.
Jon was born on March 20, 1979, on Carswell AFB in Fort Worth, Texas. Jon had a deep curiosity about the world and the people who came before him. A devoted student of history with a special fascination for World War II, he could spend hours sharing stories, discussing historical events, and passing along something new he had learned. He was a lifelong wrestling fan whose enthusiasm never faded, finding joy in following the sport through the years.
Jon also had a well-known sweet tooth, especially when it came to cheesecake, and he delighted in discovering new dessert recipes to share with family and friends.
Among the greatest joys in Jon's life was his beloved dog, Chip. Their bond was one of unwavering companionship, and Chip was far more than a pet—he was a faithful friend who brought Jon comfort, laughter, and unconditional love. Whether enjoying quiet moments at home or simply sharing each day's routines, Chip was rarely far from Jon's side.
Never one to let life stand still, Jon embraced new beginnings throughout his adult life. His journey took him across the country, and he called Ohio, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Virginia, and Tennessee home at different times. Wherever he lived, he carried with him his warmth, his curiosity, and his ability to make people feel welcome.
More than the places he lived or the hobbies he enjoyed, Jon will be remembered for the love he gave so freely—to his family, his friends, and to Chip. His laughter, his stories, his generous spirit, and his appreciation for life's simple pleasures will be deeply missed. Though his presence is gone, the memories he created and the love he shared will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
