Johnny Lee Box, age 65 passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 at the hospital. He was born February 2, 1952 in Lake City, Florida to Hattie Lee Box. Johnny moved to Sanford as a young man and then settled in Osteen, Fl. Later in life he relocated to Deleon Springs, Fl. Johnny spent most of his life working as a carpenter and later worked for Volusia County School Board as a locksmith from where he retired. Johnny was a country boy and discovered a love for Rodeo. He spent 40 years Team Roping and chasing cows. The last few years Johnny found a love for traveling to rodeos around the country with his daughter and granddaughters. Johnny always had a joke to share and a story to tell to anyone who would listen. Johnny is survived by his daughter Jeanne (Bobby) Boothe, daughter Jamie Box, granddaughters Taylor Boothe and Lacy Box. His brother Clayton (Marcy) Box, sisters Lovie Levy and Peggy(Larry) Owens, Uncle Charles Box as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and lifelong friends. Funeral services will be held at DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory in Sanford, FL on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 11am. There will be a viewing Monday, November 27, 2017 from 6pm-8pm at DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory in Sanford, Fl. There will be a reception following at Jeanne Boothe's Home.
