John Madison Trapp III

John Madison Trapp III, 65 years old died May 16th, 2015 at home in the area of the home that he loved so much: His Man Cave.
John was born in Harlem, NY April 20th 1950 to Mr. John Madison Trapp II and Mrs. Mildred Trapp. John was still a toddler when his mother Mildred passed away tragically due to an illness. John's father re-married shortly after to Aretha, she was the mom that raised him in St. Albans, Queens, NY. John was an only child and grew up in a very special and magical area of Queens, NY where so many of the children and families there created and formed a life long strong bonds of friendships.
John attended and graduated from Andrew Jackson H. S. in 1968 and was drafted by the Air Force in January of 1969. He served his country in the Vietnam war Honorably.
John married twice and produced two beautiful daughters, Lian Trapp Jarvis and Nicole Trapp, one daughter from each marriage.
John loved his family and circle of friends. John was a man of few words and had a quiet demeanor, however, when he spoke, you listened.
His passion was Sports, Sports and more Sports. He also loved to play cards: Poker and Spades, last but not least, he took pride in keeping his cars shinning like glass.
John was employed by GEI Graphic Enterprise, Inc. for several years in Manhattan, NY before he relocated to Fla. In Fla. he was employed by Murphy Beds and eventually became independently self employed making furniture parts.
John battled colon cancer for two and one half years with dignity and courage. He continued his daily activities almost until he surrendered to the inevitable.
John died in the arms of his companion, Cheryle, with his grand daughter Lenis sitting beside him. John was content and happy with the arrival of his daughter and grandchildren from Long Island NY. John also spoke with his youngest daughter the day before. He spent a little over an hour with his beloved family before he died. He had completed his mission on earth and transitioned with ease to his final resting place with God.
He will be missed immensely by his family and friends that loved him here on earth.
John is survived by his two daughters: Lian Trapp Jarvis and Nicole Trapp, his four grandchildren: Lenis, Marcel, Justin, Maliha and his life long friend and companion, Cheryle.
