John P. Swerediuk of St. Petersburg, Florida. Formerly of Pearl River N.Y.

Peaceful passed on October 13th, 2026, with family by his side at age 91.

John was born and raised in Rome N.Y.

Proudly joined the Army serving 8 years as a Staff Sergeant. He met and married his beloved wife Catherine Purvis in 1960.

John was employed at Lederle Laboratories in Pearl River, N.Y. Retiring to Florida, John enjoyed many hobbies, fishing, traveling the U.S., supporting his wife as she traveled playing softball for the Women's senior league Florida spirits.

His pride and joy were his children, Cathy,(Bruce), John, Debbie(Frank), his 6 grandchildren, John,Tyler (Marissa), Mark, Julia(Chandler), Daniel and Elizabeth. His special angels are his great grandchildren Halow, Novena and Charolette, and Lynne. He was a blessing to the family, we are thankful. John is also survived by sister in law Teresa Purvis of Michigan, James Purvis(Jeanine) of Maryland and his many nieces and nephews that he was especially fond of.
