John Thomas Rock, 85, of Orlando, passed away September 12, 2024 after an extended illness. He is survived by his children Elizabeth Barnard, Margaret Rock, Kathleen Rock and Michael Rock (Diana) and grandsons Robert, Daniel and Colin Barnard. He is also survived by his brother James Rock (Roxy) and nieces Stephanie Collums (Thomas) and Monica Bailey (Brandon) as well as grand niece Megan Callahan (Sean) and grand nephew Nicolas Romeo and great grand niece Emilia Callahan. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Rock and mother Monica Rock (Vander Werf) and father Peter Rock.

John, a former resident of Rolling Meadows, Illinois, was a graduate of St. Phillips High School in Chicago, attended Northwestern University and was an insurance agent for Farmers Insurance Group. John served for over 20 years as an elected Alderman for the City of Rolling Meadows, Illinois. He was also a Vincentian for the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Holy Family Catholic Church while being active in many other church activities.
